Cleveland Golf Club is pro active in introducing the game of golf to all youngsters from the age of five upwards, offering a fun, safe and engaging environment to start their golfing journey.
Regular coaching sessions take place using the excellent practice facilities of the club including our 6 bay covered driving range, short game area, practice hole and putting greens. Coaching sessions incorporate the Golf Foundation Junior Golf Passport scheme. All sessions are delivered by PGA qualified coaches with all personnel holding current DBS, Safeguarding and first aid certificates to comply with England Golf, SafeGolf policy.
A full calendar of events and activities is available to all juniors. Competitions in different formats and over different course lengths, Skills Challenges, Junior and Adult competitions and social events are all included as well as weekly coaching sessions. Dedicated junior tees have been introduced on each hole of the course offering the opportunity for all youngsters to play the course and enter the competitions. All juniors are encouraged to participate in as many events as they can. There are also a number of external events organised throughout the season both team and individual competitions.
Parents are actively encouraged to be part of the youngsters progression with being involved in coaching sessions both on the range and on the course and with playing the course on a regular basis.
The Junior Classes cost just £70 for 8 x 1 hour sessions. Sessions include instruction on the golf swing and using the different clubs. Basic rules and etiquette including on course roll play, game management and golf general knowledge. The cost includes free junior membership of the club for the first year and all range balls in the coaching sessions.
